Certificate: 12A. This is a very substantial certificate which has been allowed to appeal to a lot more of a target audience, due to it being based on a fiction book the certificate would've had to be kept as low as possible to get the target audience its appealing too. However it has been rated a 12 not a pg as some of the scenes may need parental guidance to allow children under the age of 12 to watch. For example the sexual scenes.

Reviews
The Guardian - ' Baz Luhrmann's hyperactive adaptation tramples over the subtleties of the F Scott Fitzgerald classic' . ( Phillip French)
Rotten Tomatoes - 2 and a half stars
The great Gatsby was given a very mixed view from 4 stars to 2 stars. Originally the film was going to be released in December 2012 however was changed to May 2013 in 3d which could have took the film either way by making it a massive success or a box office flop!!!
